Join us in our charming Apple Cottage for a beautiful hands-on experience at Gold Ridge Organic Farms! Spend 75 minutes learning how to craft your very own lip balm and body scrub using our organic olive oil, and discover how to select the right essential oils to make each creation uniquely yours. Whether you're treating yourself or looking for a fun and memorable way to celebrate Mother's Day with your mom, this is the perfect excuse to get creative together!

The experience includes a scenic ride through the farm on our beloved apple-themed trolley and morning tea — plus every participant will take home two lip balms and a jar of their very own body scrub as a personal keepsake from a truly special day.

Your guide for the morning is Anna O'Neil, an aromatherapist, garden enthusiast, and aspiring folk herbalist with a deep-rooted passion for natural remedies that promote well-being. Growing up in Northern California, Anna has been drawn to the healing power of nature since childhood, crafting culinary creations, herbal remedies, and luxurious body products inspired by the seasonal bounty of the land. A Reiki and Yoga practitioner, she is dedicated to guiding others on their wellness journeys and helping them discover what brings them comfort and joy.

Join us for a 3-hour hands-on sourdough making class at Gold Ridge Organic Farms, led by Monica Flaherty of the Sebastopol Sourdough Company. Spend three immersive hours in our charming Apple Cottage learning the art and science of sourdough bread making.

Monica will walk you through everything you need to know — how wild yeast and fermentation work, why sourdough differs from commercial yeast bread, and how to read your dough. You'll also cover starter care and feeding, mixing and hydration ratios, shaping and scoring techniques, and the secrets to achieving that perfect crust and open crumb.

Every guest will leave with an active starter, a feeding schedule and care guide, a shaped dough in a banneton ready to bake at home, and their very own apron to take home as a keepsake. The experience also includes a ride across the farm on our beloved apple-themed trolley to the Apple Cottage.

Don’t just tour the farm — explore it alongside the very farmer who built it, Brooke Hazen, in this immersive, behind-the-scenes experience.

Step into the heart of Gold Ridge Organic Farms for an orchard hike led by our founder and farmer, Brooke Hazen. With over two decades of dedication poured into these 88 acres of certified organic farmland, Brooke will guide you through the orchards and share the story of how he transformed this land into a thriving sanctuary for heirloom apples, olives, and citrus.

Along the way, you'll explore our 70+ heirloom apple varieties and 21 olive cultivars, learn about our organic farming practices, and get your questions answered by the person who knows this land better than anyone

Please Note:

This is a moderately challenging walk over uneven, rugged terrain with gentle hills and light elevation gain. Sturdy, closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required. No heels, sandals, ballet flats, or open-toed shoes allowed.

What to Bring:

*Sun Protection: Sunscreen and a sun hat

*Water: A refillable bottle — we offer pristine well water for top-ups

*Layers: Mornings are cool and afternoons can be warm — a T-shirt with a light jacket works well

Gold Ridge Organic Farms opens its gates for Art at the Source, welcoming art lovers to discover the work of two exceptional Artists in Residence — Layla Love and Mark Marthaler.

Internationally acclaimed artist Layla Love bridges the tangible and intangible, using 24K gold and precious woods to create elevated works that evoke integrity, beauty, and love. Her pieces invite quiet contemplation and a deeper connection to what it means to live well.

Also on display on our crush pad, discover the whimsical sculptural work of creative decorative artist Mark Marthaler. His playful, imaginative pieces are designed to be experienced up close — Mark's goal is to create an interactive encounter with art that inspires guests to pause, engage, and share their own visions of beauty with the world.

Art at the Source connects Sonoma County artists with thousands of collectors, art lovers, and supporters from across the greater Bay Area and beyond.

Apple U-Pick FAQs 
 
Do I need a reservation? 

Yes! Please reserve your time slot on our reservation site. Reservations help us ensure everyone has a wonderful experience without overcrowding.  
 
Can I show up without a reservation?  
We require reservations to maintain our capacity limits and ensure everyone enjoys their visit to the fullest.  
 
Can I cancel my reservation?  
Absolutely! You can cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before your scheduled time by calling us at 707-823-3100. Please note that cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will result in forfeiture of the entrance fee. 
 
Can I bring my dog?  
Dogs are not permitted in the orchard, with the exception of service animals. This policy helps ensure the safety and comfort of all our visitors. 
 
Can I bring a stroller into the orchard?  
For safety reasons, strollers aren't allowed in the orchard, but you're welcome to leave yours at the check-in area where it will be safe and waiting for you!  
I require mobility accommodations. Can I still pick apples in the orchard?  
Yes. Please call us on 707-823-3110 once you’re made a reservation and we can provide suitable transportation into our orchard.

Why is there an entrance fee?  
The entrance fee helps us maintain our beautiful orchard and keep our experienced staff on hand to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. 

How much are the apples?  
Our delicious U-pick Honeycrisp apples are $4.00 per pound.  
 
What variety of apples will we be harvesting?  
You'll be picking our delicious Honeycrisp apples!  
 
Can I harvest heirloom apples?  
While heirloom apples aren't available for U-pick, we offer many wonderful heirloom varieties for purchase in our Farm Shop.  
 
Are your apples organic?  
Yes, all our apples are organically grown and certified annually by Oregon Tilth!
